COMPANY HISTORY

1969
Prolec Began Operations

Prolec began operations in 1969 with the acquisition of IEI (Industrial Electrical Engineering), a small factory producing medium-power electrical transformers and distribution in Mexico City.

1976
Productos Industriales CM

Prolec's operations were relocated to Nuevo León, in northeastern Mexico, where a new plant was inaugurated: Productos Industriales CM, now Prolec GE. This marks the first production of distribution transformers in Mexico.

1995
Joint venture Prolec GE

Xignux and General Electric establish a joint venture dedicated to power transformers manufacturing: Prolec GE.

1996
Distribution Transformers

Integration of distribution transformers division to the Prolec GE joint venture.

1998
Integration of industrial transformers

Prolec GE expands the scope of its joint venture by including the manufacturing of industrial transformers for export

2003
Three-Phase Pad-Mounted Transformers

Integration of three-phase pad-mounted transformers.

2006
First Exportation of Prolec Celeco

Prolec Celeco carries out the first export of short-circuit isolators to China.

2007
Extra High Voltage Transformers

Integration of extra high voltage (EHV) transformers.

2011
Prolec Labs

Prolec Labs started operations in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.

VG-100 Natural Ester

VG-100, natural ester fluid, was introduced to the national market.

2020
Prolec GE International

Acquisition of Prolec GE USA in Shreveport, LA and Prolec GE Brazil in Canoas, Brazil

2021
Waukesha Integration

Acquisition of  Waukesha Transformers business, located in Waukesha, WI; Goldsboro, NC, and Dallas, TX.
